Terms and conditions of use for an account in the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface
In order to support authentication in the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface, every user has to have his/her own (personalized) account with a valid e-mail address. Rohde & Schwarz explicitly reserves the right not to accept the use of 'disposable e-mail addresses' (e.g. Mailinator addresses).
Users can change their own data (e.g. first name/surname) in the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface. In order to delete their account, users have to contact the Rohde & Schwarz webmaster. This results in them being deleted from all systems covered by the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface.
Users are obliged to amend the data they provide when they create their Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail account or to inform Rohde & Schwarz of any such changes without delay (e.g. changes in name, company they work for, e-mail address). The password chosen for the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail account and the security questions/answers are subject – if available – to a nondisclosure agreement (NDA), may not be passed on to third parties and must be kept in a manner that prevents third parties from becoming aware of them.
Since the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface is not a freely usable webmail service subject to no restrictions, it is important to remember that it is not possible to send e-mails to e-mail addresses other than Rohde & Schwarz addresses. Secure communications can only take place between Rohde & Schwarz and Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail users. Furthermore, Rohde & Schwarz does not archive the e-mail correspondence sent via the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail system. Users have their own responsibility to ensure that the relevant e-mail correspondence is transferred to their system to be saved locally using the export options available in the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface. Both read and unread e-mails are deleted from the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface after a period of 90 days. If users are inactive for a period of 180 days, the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail account will be deleted in full. Users will be informed by e-mail before their account is deleted.
In line with the corresponding designation, all content of the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface is deemed by the Rohde & Schwarz group of companies to be
COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL and therefore:
· Is not intended or approved for publication.
· May only be transmitted in encrypted form using a Rohde & Schwarz encryption procedure (e.g. Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail web interface).
· The following basic principle applies: Knowledge only on a 'need to know' basis, i.e. this information may not be disseminated to unauthorized third parties. Provisions set out in an NDA must be strictly adhered to.
In the event of the misuse (e.g. to send unsolicited advertising e-mails, malicious code, etc.) of the Rohde & Schwarz Secure E-Mail accounts or failure to adhere to the rules set out above, Rohde & Schwarz reserves the right to delete the account without delay and, where appropriate, take additional measures to protect its own infrastructure, to pursue activities that may be relevant from a criminal law perspective or to compensate for the damage incurred.
The Rohde & Schwarz statement of privacy applies to the general data protection aspects.
